01The address locates the account, and the tag helps allocate the deposit

Some platforms let multiple users share one on-chain receiving address, then use additional information to identify the specific recipient. 02First verify the receiving platform's requirements

The content and type of the tag are based on that page; do not enter a nickname, order number, or a guessed number on your own. 03See the three tags with a teaching order example

04Distinguish payment tags from receiving tags

There are two directions in an exchange: you deposit to the order, and the order sends the exchange result to your address. The tag shown next to the order deposit address should be entered in the sending wallet; the tag given by your receiving platform should be entered in the exchange's receiving information. Do not swap the two or reuse an old order tag.

05Blank and zero are not the same decision

Some personal wallets do not require a tag, and some address formats may also contain tag information. First confirm the recipient's requirements, then fill in the format supported by the page; do not casually replace a blank with zero. 06Keep the payment record after discovering an omission

An on-chain transaction that has already been sent cannot have a tag added by modifying a webpage form. Save the order number, transaction hash, coin, network, sending amount, and the tag that should have been entered, and contact the actual recipient to investigate. Whether handling is possible depends on the specific transaction and platform process; do not directly pay again to try to fix it.

FAQ

Must Tag be filled in for every XRP transfer?

Whether it is needed depends on the receiving address and platform requirements; it cannot be determined based only on the coin.

Can Memo be written as a note to yourself?

The deposit Memo specified by the platform must be filled in accurately and cannot be changed to a personal note.

Can it definitely be recovered after a tag is omitted?

Can the Tag previously used for the same address continue to be used?
