01Exchanging assets and crossing networks are two dimensions
First write the asset and network separately. ETH to USDT can occur on the same chain; an asset also named USDT can also involve two different networks. Swap and Bridge describe different emphases, and some services may also combine cross-chain and exchange.
Cross-chain bridges connect different chains and may use mechanisms such as lock and mint, burn and mint, or atomic swaps. "Swap" and "bridge" cannot be treated as two non-overlapping categories, nor can this be used to infer the underlying implementation of any specific service.
02What you receive after going cross-chain depends on the network and token version
Different designs may result in your receiving an issuer-supported token, a wrapped version representing the asset on the other side, or the target asset obtained through exchange. Not all bridges produce wrapped tokens, and not all tokens with the same name can be deposited on the same receiving platform.
When receiving USDT, compare the target network and asset information against Tether's supported protocols, then confirm with the receiving platform whether it accepts them. The contract is used to identify the token and should not be entered as a user address; for how to check, see USDT Ethereum receiving address guide.

03Two teaching scenarios: exchanging assets on the same chain and receiving on a different chain
Below are two teaching scenarios for choosing a direction; no order was created and no bridge was executed. They only illustrate input and receiving requirements and do not mean that a route is always available.
This table can scroll horizontally.
| Scenario | Start → End | Key points to check |
|---|---|---|
| A: Need to convert ETH to USDT | Ethereum ETH → Ethereum USDT | Asset changed, network unchanged; verify the quote and ETH sending fee |
| B: The recipient only accepts Ethereum USDT | TRON USDT → Ethereum USDT | Network changed; verify the target USDT version and the payment conditions at each step |

04Confirm the initial sending fee and subsequent fees separately
Initiating an operation on Ethereum usually requires ETH Gas, and TRON contract transfers use bandwidth and energy and may consume TRX. Specific services may also have target-network claiming, additional confirmations, or fee-advance conditions, which should be checked item by item; you cannot assume all processes are the same.
Assets received in the future cannot automatically cover the fees for an initial send that has not yet been completed. When comparing, list the sending-side fee, the fees already included in the quote, and the fees still unknown separately; do not count the same cost twice. For the method, see How to compare two quotes.

05Look at verification and failure handling, not just the "safe" label
A bridge's verification and fund-control methods vary by design and may depend on validator nodes, contracts, and underlying network. Contract vulnerabilities, technical failures, or participant behavior can all affect funds; "trustless" does not mean risk-free.
Before use, confirm who verifies cross-chain information, whether follow-up actions are required, how anomalies are located, and what refund or recovery conditions exist. For exchange services, also check the terms applicable to this order; do not guarantee refundability or faster arrival just because of a category name.

06Choose a route on FeilongEX according to actual needs
The route page for FeilongEX provides assets, networks, quotes, receiving, deposit, and order queries. No standalone cross-chain bridge product is shown here, nor can it be inferred from a route that it uses any of the bridge mechanisms above. Please confirm the service conditions based on this quote, order, and applicable terms.
For scenario A, see ETH to USDT Ethereum; for scenario B, see USDT TRC20 to ERC20. If the input and receiving networks are already the same and the asset is the same, first determine whether an ordinary transfer already meets the need.
If you discover the network does not match only after sending, keep the original record for investigation. Creating a new bridge or exchange order will not automatically fix the original transfer.

FAQ
Is a cross-chain exchange the same as a cross-chain bridge?
They cannot be fully equated. Actual services may combine exchange and cross-chain mechanisms; you should verify the target asset, network, steps, and applicable conditions rather than judging the implementation by name alone.
Will all cross-chain bridges give me wrapped tokens?
No. Bridges have different mechanisms and actually received assets differ; you should verify the target network, token contract, and the receiving platform's support scope.
Does FeilongEX provide a standalone Bridge product?
The FeilongEX feature introduced in this article is currently an exchange quote and order process; this knowledge guide should not be understood as meaning that a standalone bridge product has been launched.
For the same USDT on the same network, is a bridge still needed?
If an ordinary same-network transfer already meets the receiving requirements, there is usually no need to go cross-chain just to change wallets or platforms; you should still verify the address, network, and fees.
